  • Build their communication skills to use in daily interactions and routines with others
  • Learn speech sounds, words and sentences to engage with others and express their ideas
  • Develop social skills
  • Learn to understand the meaning of words and how to follow instructions
  • Develop skills to build their understanding literacy
  • Identify specific technology to assist with communication (e.g. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems)
