Life skills

Our occupational therapists work with children and young people to develop their independent life skills, so they can participate in everyday activities.

Do you, your child or young person need help with any of the following…

  • Everyday routines such as dressing, toileting, brushing hair and teeth, sleeping, and going shopping?
  • Successful mealtimes – eating, using utensils and mealtime participation?
  • Behaviour that seems excessive in response to the situation?
  • Understanding their sensory needs and how it impacts on their participation?

Our occupational therapists can help you, your child or young person to:

  • Develop their independence in daily activities and self-care tasks.
  • Develop self-regulation skills to manage their feelings such as anxiety and anger
  • Understand and manage their sensory needs
  • Access specialised equipment
